A big thank you to the thousands of people who came along to Colne Food Festival yesterday. We never could have imagined just how busy it would be. In spite of the first two hobs refusing to work we were saved by La Dolce Vita coffee shop who lent us their fabulous gas burner.

We fed the 5000 which made us feel a bit God-like and gave away trillions of recipe booklets.

Thanks also to Ash Sutcliffe and Charles Bolton for organising the event and asking me to headline it. And lastly, thanks to my amazing daughter, Zoe who didn’t grate her finger (like I did) and remained calm throughout. As she always does. She’s an inspiration.

Here she is struggling to carry the wealth of goodies donated by Asda, Colne for us to give away. Oops, I nearly forgot to thank Asda who supplied all the food for the demonstration as well as the prizes of 3 basic kitchen kits and a slow cooker. Winners will be announced later today.
