Clean carpets

So, after the troubles with La Laconda (please read the comments from the chef and the happy customer) it’s time to give my new review of Shanghai.  It closed for nearly for two weeks for re-painting and carpet cleaning after my ‘Clean it up!’ Tripadvisor review.  It’s now spotless and the carpets no longer look like animals had been bedding down on them for the winter (as one Tripadvisor reviewer commented).

We nearly ruined those new carpets though.  We returned to Shanghai for Joe’s 7th birthday.  I’d been having a really bloody busy day and it was time to pick the kids up from school before I could even think about baking his birthday cake.  I tried to convince him that a novelty cake from the supermarket was a good idea but no, he wanted the Be-Ro milk chocolate cake.  To be fair, it is the only cake that he likes.  I suggested Joe made his own cake with a bit of help from big sister Zoe.  It turned out perfectly but was still a little bit warm when I filled it with cream and set of for Shanghai. The cake was given pride of place in the centre of the table where it looked resplendent and then HORROR the cream became milk and poured allover the table and threatened to drip over the new carpets.  There were international screams and we all ran for cloths.
